Family Modleling

As I reflected back on class i really enjoyed the family modeling activity. Though it seemed really silly at first, but it really helped not only those involved in the situation but those helping or watching got to really see how the family was structured. My family growing up wasn't perfect but we were not dysfunctional. Me and my dad butted heads almost my whole teenage years and college years until about two years ago. This type of family modeling I think would have really helped us see each other’s sides and where we come from. Families are so diverse there is no way that one solution would work for everyone and not all families will have the same problems, but not all families are perfect and there will be arguments and misunderstandings to some degree and it is very important for us to step back and see where the real problems lie. Once walls are let down the real feelings come out and solutions can happen. It takes time but it is worth it :)
